Sorry I won't be much help here as I am not familiar with your model carb.
Anyway, does the carb have a sight glass on the bowel? If so I believe you want the fuel level half way acreoss the sight.
Or, does the bowel have a plug on it's side like a Holley? If so you want to adjust the float so that fuel just barely trickles out the hole when the plug is removed.
These suggestions may not apply to you but I thought I would throw them out just in case.
nope, nothing like that, its a very basic H stock motorcraft carb. I am having probs and i think its fuel related so i decided to bend the float cause the fuel level looked high. Well, now i am curious what it is supposed to be. How do you tell if the fuel level is high/low enough? i would really hate to unbolt the damn thing and turn it upside down to do another dry measurement.
If it's a 2100 style carb you can just unbolt the four top screws and remove the top of the carb. Then fire up the truck and check the float level. I use a dial type vernier and measure from the top of the aluminum carb housing to the front edge of the float.
