I'd like it better if it was a Ford tailgate but, it is pretty cool. Might make for a good project when my 53 is done.

You wouldn't want to waste good Ford parts on a bench.

He used the Chevy parts because it was the best use for them.
(Just kidding Chevy guys)

At a few swap meets I've seen a similar bench over and over, except that it had Chevy truck doors as the sides. One could rest their arm on the window opening when sitting down. It was a neat concept, but just too bulky IMO.

I do have a spare F1 and F2 tailgates that are in poor condition to put on a truck, but would yield themselves nicely to a project like this. I also have an older section of a bench, so I'm half way there. Just need to put them together.

A buddy of mine has one something like that except for the fact that his tailgate is mounted to the wall and drops down just like it would were it attached to the pickup bed. When the tailgate is up you can see the bumper and tailights...looks like a truck just drove through his wall. Not as portable as this unit however.

Here's a Ford one: ( I also added a couple other ideas, but couldn't find the one where the ford bed was stood upright against the wall, and was made into a shelving unit)

My brother used a tailgate in a boy's room for a desk. I thought it was pretty cool. They also used old corrugated barn metal siding to cover the walls.
It looked like a barn bedroom. also an old tractor seat for the desk.
