1994 E4OD transmission problem
I just replaced the E4OD transmission in a 1994 F-150 with what I was told was the same transmission out of a 1999 Mustang. The parts dealer who sold me the transmission replaced an electrical plug on the transmission with one that matched mine, and said that it would function properly. The Mustang transmission is now installed, and works fine in first and second gears. It jumps out of gear in third, and the overdrive light is constantly flashing. Can anyone tell me if the dealer was correct, and if so, how I can correct the problem? Thanks -

The E4OD was never installed in a Mustang or any other car. It was a truck transmission only. Check the door jamb sticker to verify what your truck came with from the factory. Trans. Code U is an AODE/4R70W. Trans. Code E is an E4OD.
