Fuel line replacement

Fuel line replacement
Ok, I am stuck. I kinked a fuel line when I took it off. I have the new fuel line, but I can't get the old one to let go. It has some kind of disconnect I haven't seen. It looked simple enough to remove the clip and pull the hard line out. No such luck. I don't want to force them and break something. Is there a special tool or an easy way to separate them?

Like one of the cheap ones that go around the line and press into it

I've got both the metal and plastic sets. Both work however the metal set does work better with less strain on the operator.

This one is what I have. Be careful with them and they'll last forever.
This would work on the trans-lines to the radiator as well?
