So, I have poured over these threads again and again. I've read everything I could as far as offset and backspacing and seem to be getting conflicting opinions. I have a '11 XLT PSD LBCC with the stock 17" wheels. I have a set of the stock 20" Michelin tires that came on the Lariat. I am going to buy a set of wheels and run those 20" tires. It seems that when I find a wheel in 8x170, the offset is either -12, 0, 12, 18, or 24. I've read to stay between 12-24 to maintain the even tire to fender look. I don't mind them sticking out slightly, but I would like to stay as close to even as possible. I have read that the 18 offset will do that, but it seems they never have the backspacing that I have read that I need which some say is 6.5", while most +18 are around 5.75". Any insight? Am I over thinking?

Over thinking it bud. Get as close as you can to your desired offset ans call it good. Remenber, 1 inch = 25 mm so you won't even be able to notice if you are off by a few, give or take
No problem... i had a ton of questions like you when i was shopping for wheels. Finally made a decision and im pretty happy with it, some days i wish my wheels stuck out more but then i realize my truck gets filthy even sticking out this much
