Going to put a 2.5" leveling kit on my 2005 CC 6L LWB.
I plan on adding a set of 17 x 9 M/T wheels and 35" tires.
M/T website says the wheels have 5" backspacing and 0 offset.
Will they stick outside the wheel wells much?
It will be about 2" futher out than stock. The stock 18x8 has close to a 6" backspacing. So you will be moving the inside out 1" plus the rim is 1" wider giving 2". If you had the 17x7.5 rims the difference wil be about the same with them. I measured mine once on my 05 F250 and they were about 5.75" bs. I forget exactly what the offset is. I would have to find my old post, but it is about +40mm offset. About a month ago someone had done the same thing and his tires rubbed on the front when turning sharp because of the change in offset.
You should have minimal tire outside the wheel well. Since the tire is gaining .5" width on each side, you are using 0mm offset with the 5" backspacing. The wheel will be pushed out overall but stay tucked under because of the 0mm offset.
