oil cooler question
Does any coolant go though the oil cooler? Or is it just oil?
Trying to figure out why that sucker is suddenly leaking.

Great. I hope the coolant didn't pop the seal
I dont have any coolant in the oil though.
System keeps over-pressurizing and it's pushing coolant out though the bottom of the water pump and other places.
Gonna have to get a new radiator cap for sure.
Not sure what to do for the 3 hour drive tomorrow though.

Can someone explain exactly how the system becomes pressureized?

Check for combustion gasses in coolant...if the two were compromised intermixing would be happening.i would look elsewhere if cap off it ok

You have liquid changing around because its being heated........
If it never changed, you'd have a closed coolant system and no reserve tank or degas bottle.
Thats why when your radiator cap went bad before you'd have issues.
The pressure couldn't push past the spring.
Having leaks in my system dont' help me any.

No problems like that.
Truck only looses coolant when you shut it off, not while its running.

OIL COOLER
If your oil cooler is leaking ,go buy the rubber seals and replace them.Done mine solved the problem. A little hard to remove but it can be done with manifold still on.Kit cost me about 80 bucks in N.C.
