Factory alarm issue

Hi , I was wondering if anyone had ever had this issue with there truck ? I have a 2002 f350 TD .What it does is when you first start the truck the radio will not light up , the windows will not work , then after a minute of the truck moving the doors will lock and usually the radio will turn on and the windows will work but lately it takes alot longer for the radio and the windows to start working when the truck first starts .I also noticed when going down the road and nothing is working (radio/windows) that if I press the button for the alarm (the key ring) the doors will lock and unlock. I also hear some clicking from behind the radio like the sound of a relay .Thanks for any help !!

I think it's a relay causing your problem? Mine does the same thing (not all the time, mainly during the summer months) and from what I've read it's something to do with a bad relay. Do a search and you should be able to find out what relay to look at.

Sounds like the same symptoms. I never did anything with it. Mine could be fixed by turning the cab light on and back off...

This link as well, which was a group of guys with 2002 trucks, had similar issues and all traced it back to the VSM (Vehicle Security Module)
