Autoenginuity keyless entry

Does anybody know if AE will retrieve the factory code for the keyless entry. I have my code written down so I do not have a problem but was just wondering if AE would retrieve that data.

Not sure on AE but I know my Snap On Solus Ultra scan tool will not pull it.

That code is printed on a label on the module that controls the RKE function. It's easy to acquire.

AE has no programming abilities. It can reset tire sizes and minor stuff but not reset key or program a new set of keys.

Keyless entry has nothing to do with those functions.

I have ae and I can assure you it can read but not reprogram the keyless entry code. it can also program keys and fobs to the system.

Good to know - my Solus says it will but it doesn't come up as an option in the menus.

I will have to fire up the software to check. I can do that later today when I get back home.

if you can get GEM data up on the screen it is a PID. Not a function.

It depends on the year of the vehicle. Some vehicles have a Vehicle Security Module and the later years have a GEM, my 2000 I found the code in the VSM, you have to connect directly to the individual modules with the AE, once connected you will see the options on the drop down screen.

If the GEM is not programmed or damaged it will not work. My Brother in Law has a 2002 X that has a salvage/restored title, the door keypad does not work to unlock the vehicle, but it will lock it. When I connected to the GEM it said code not programmed, but gave me an option to enable it, but not to program the code. So it never worked. They think the GEM on that truck is damaged but they are not sure. It does all kinds of weird things with the inside lights sometimes, there are times they come out and the batteries are dead. Glad it's not mine.

Did you guys ever figure out how to get the key pad code with AE?

I plugged mine in today running the newest version of AE but did not see that option. Where would I look?

I have v13. Not having the keyless entry code on my 01 X was one of the reasons I got the program. I connected to the GEM, click on special function, press the drop down menu, select factory keyless entry code, and click initiate.
