back up/reverse light question

Are the backup/reverse lights controlled by the MLPS?
Here is the situation, when I put the truck in reverse sometimes the lights come on sometimes they don't. If you jiggle the shift lever up and down I can usually get them to com on

Thanks in advance

Matt, I took mine off the shifter and put 2 halogen lights on a switch , then converted the ones in the tail lights to amber turn signals nice change for an old truck !!! Dave

I have a94 f150 and my Rev. Lights were on all the time and I changed the clock spring in the steering wheel and they worked fine. I don't know if that will help you PR not. But shaking the shifter will vibrate it and it will make contact. Hope it helps ypu
