I converted my 3 speed standard colum shift to a 3 speed floor shifter. How can I get the reverse lights turn on when I place the transmision into reverse. The old switch was under the hood by firewall. Is it possible to hook the switch up, so it works like it should?
if you were able to rig up a bracket then you could make it work. but that will be your only option. Most people don't find backup lights as a huge need so they just do without.
Check with the company that made your shifter, they may offer a kit. Reverse lights are a good safety item to have even in daylight. When you're backing out of a parking space, pedestrians can see your rev lights even before you see them. It's one thing I keep an eye on when I'm walking behind parked cars.
look into putting some lights on the rear bumper or the cab. i put mine up on the cab
got them from carquest for 6 bucks each. i got 1 on each side, they light it up
great for alot of stuff trailers, unloading/loading in dark and my favorite they are awesome to pull up in front of your buddies broke down chevy so you guys can see to fix it.
