I was using about 8oz. of 2 cycle per fill up (around 40 gallons). Some use the whole quart.

I wish I got that mileage out of my X, seems around town for the last 5 months we have owned it all, we get is 13 mpg.... guess the lift and tires kills the mileage. It was only getting 11mpg till I corrected the speedo with the AE. Who would have figured, buying AE saved me 2 MPG .

I know mine has some boost and exhaust leaks and I am planning on taking all the parts up with us to my In-laws over post Christmas/ New Years since my father in Law has a nice shop with a lift I can use. That is if I can get the time off work..

A little tuning will help with your mpg...

To the question of how much per tank...I put a quart in per 20gal of fuel. So two quarts if I fill it all the way up. I can tell a difference in how she runs without it for sure. Nice and smooth idle when I add it.

I am curious and may try on my own to see if I can tell a difference between just 8oz. or two quarts. Anyone else try something similar?

I know it will get better on the Highway, when I first bought it, I reset the lie-o-meter and it said I was getting 18mpg at 70. All the around town driving had it down to 11.2 with the speedo off, which was what it was showing when I bought it. After I corrected it with AE it now shows 13.2 with no other changes. I checked it this last tank and it was getting 13.5mpg actually. I plan on getting some tunes for it after I get a few more of the problems it has sorted. I want to make sure it is totally healthy before I start whipping the horses out of it. Frankly I am kind of afraid of giving my wife an extra 120 hp.. I know how she drives now.

I put a quart in before I start fueling, then halfway up I put in the second quart. My brother has been doing this with his older trucks since they started messing with the diesel mixtures. It puts everything back in the government takes out

Once she has it,, she wont go back!!! My wife would call after picking it up at the dealer, "tell me how to put the programmer back in!" And I have reports from buddies around town,,, "man your wife has a lead foot!" but she still managed to get the stock brakes to 90k before I had to replace them!

I've used the deisel kleen, the Ford stuff, and the 2 stroke oil @ 0.5 oz/gal. The 2 stroke oil makes it run noticeably quieter, the others made no difference that I could see or should I say hear. The 30 weight oil worries me and I have been too chicken to add it as of yet.

Don't be a chicken, John!! It WILL NOT HURT anything. Just puts what is supposed to be in your diesel back in there. That Lucas oil stuff is nothing more than some 30W oil with detergent added...at three times the price of 30W oil!

As far as the tuner coupled with wives goes....Mine DEMANDED I put the tuner back on after I had removed it for maintenance stuff. Then, the next day, she is bragging about "smoking out a tailgater"! I created a monster....

you could run that truck off of 50% motor oil in the summer and it would run just fine.

I know lots of people that do so... there is a reason I have 2 years worth of used motor oil still sitting in my carport, I am wanting to get a centrifuge and if the excrement hits the fan I will have more fuel to burn in my Alt fuel diesels.... I am sitting on close to 150 gallons of diesel right now, but more is always better.

I have around 80 gallons of waste oil that I have been saving in hopes that I will set up an oil burner some day to heat the shop.

My wife doesn't like to drive the X, she loves being a passenger but doesn't like to drive it.

I burn my old 15-40 rotella with Lucas in my ex & my Peterbilt.... Have been for years at about 1/2 oz per gallon, I haven't run any through my 6.4 yet though, I'm kinda leary of that one since it was designed for this new sh** fuel....
