Tow mirror info needed.
I have searched many threads and seem to be confused. I have a 2000 excursion and unsure of exact plugs. I currently have the paddle mirrors that are heated and powered, and want to get the tow mirrors with heat and power. They don't need to have signals or power telescoping or folding. As long as they can manually fold. What is a good reliable mirror that will fit what I need?

Look for the Excursion or Super Duty towing mirrors from 2000-2007. You can find them on the classifieds here or through our site sponsors. They are the rounded style.
That mirror will be 99% a plug and play and a direct bolt on. It will give you running lights and turn signals as well as powered glass and defrost. They will not be power fold or extend as that feature did not come out till the 08. They will manual fold and extend.
If the 2000-2007 tow mirror does not plug in, Ford has a connector adaptor. You either have a square plug or a round plug. The adaptor is factory and not very expensive.
You can check my build thread in my sig for some installation instructions on mirror swapping.
Swap takes less than 30 minutes and can be done with basic hand tools.

I picked some aftermarket ones from ebay. It came with an adaptor plug here is my thread https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...r-upgrade.html. I just cut the wires off the factory plug that came with new mirrors and soldered new wires in. I just made new ends for heater circuit did not want to cut plug end off orginal mirrors since I was going to sell them to off set some of the cost. I really like the 08 mirrors huge difference glad I did them. Mine had the 3 pin round plug and then 2 pin square plug. I got adaptor round to new rectangle plug.

I recently replaced my 2000 dog ears with the tow mirrors connected by the small round plug. Worked great, just follow one of the many instructions on FTE.

Member "Special Tools" has several sets of these heated, power mirrors you are looking for (no turn signals). I would PM him. He ships, too. I think he is asking $149 per mirror....but not 100% on that. I was just at his warehouse yesterday giving him more of my money.
Edit: and his are FORD OEM
