Okay so last weekend I was getting ready to head back home from my folks house and my dash lights weren't working got pulled over for my tail lights not working and found out the park lights weren't working changed the blown fuse and it just kept popping so I got on here and found something about the overdrive wires so I took the column apart and disconnected those wires because I didn't see any part that had bare wires everything was working fine for about 20 minutes and now everything but the dash lights are working what is going on anyone?? Thanks in advanced
fuse blown. Don't know which one because I don't have access to my fuse pannel info. I will have to wait until 8am EST to give details about the correct fuse. sorry.
You can check the trailer wiring if it is a hack job and not factory as that can be a problem sometimes with water getting into the connection at the plug or where the wires are spliced in. Wish I could help more but I am not at home. I think that same fuse for the OD circuit controls the Idle Validation Switch/Throttle Position Sensor(IVS/TPS). That means if that fuse is blown that you will idle and not have any power when you push the gas/diesel go pedal. Us electrical guys aren't much good without drawings to back us up.
Did you continuity check each fuse that might be the cause of your problem? Looking at them without a continuity check could have you chasing ghosts. Any fuse associated with the circuits you are working on need to be continuity checked.
