I come once again for the knowledge that y'all provide. I'm smack dead in the middle of a engine swap into a 2001 f150 the donor is out of a 99 expedition. Wanting to use the 99's wiring harness which looks the same except for a small connector at the bottom next to the oil pressure sender. I believe it to be a power steering assist. It was a recently rebuilt motor and the harness is pristine. The only question is can I use it, if so do I leave it unplugged or plug it in to the power steering pump? Thanks for your help. ~Steven
The power steering signal is to tell the computer to account for the extra load the pump will put on the motor when the steering is moved, otherwise you can experience stalling or large idle swings when parking or making slow speed steering changes etc.
Good luck.
Ok so if my old motor didnt have it I can just forget about it. ? Or are the pins still there and it's just never had it so would it be ok to hook it up and gain this new feature.
