I used HIDs. Bulb is a 9140/9145. You can try over and over to get the HID look with a regular halogen but it just wont happen. To get close to the stock hid headlights go with a 6k for the foglights. I run 10k in mine and 8k in my headlights.
Coincidence- I just put this upgrade I did from 9140 to the 9145 in my '10 F150 into the Common Mods section. Then I go to the forums and find this thread... maybe I need to play the Powerball tonight I had 9145's from my SD that I put in my F150 ~ a yr ago as they were just sitting in the toolbox. I noticed an improvement and not enough to blind oncoming drivers
Does anybody know what the 2013 ford f150 hid color temperature is? How many Kelvins they are?
Unless something has changed since I worked at Sylvania, the SAE/DOT requirement limits the color temperature to 4100 K. Personally, I would grab a set of 9145 silver stars and call it a day. No, they wont match but they will be closer. Just my 2 cents.
I used to run hids in the halogens lenses. Did it for over 5 years. I recently switched out to projectors from spyder with 6000k hids. I run 8000k hids in my fog lights.
I thought about going with the led foglights but I just don't see them putting out enough light for me. Sure they are bright but will they really cut through fog that well? And there's nothing illegal about hids in foglights either.

yeah i dunno how they would do in fog but the color temp is 6000k which is the right color for the hids i want. I had an avenger and it had the separate high low set up and i went all hid's. it sucked having SIX!!! ballasts to locate and hide lol.

You will be lucky if its a close match. I have 6000k hids in my projectors and bought a set of 6000k switchback led turn signals from ijdmtoy and the color doesn't match. Looks more like a 5000 k. Still bright but not exact color match
