I have an 89 F 150 the truck runs fine until it warms up and then all die it will start back up about 10 minutes later. at first I thought it was just vapor locking but it did it to me when it was about 20 degrees outside after running for about 20 minutes I don't know what the matter is
Most likely you are losing spark, some tests will confirm this. Either the ignition coil or the pickup inside the distributor. Less likely the ignition module on the side of the distributor.
Yes you got the right thing. I can say surely that it is a poor spark problem. You can check the spark plug also. Sometimes the carbon stuck on the spark plug and it is the cause. Gud luck for your f150...
Here's a little test you can do while driving. If you have a tach, pay attention to it. If the tach drops like a rock to Zero, it's ignition. If the tach drops slowly as you are coasting, it's fuel. Good luck

I have watched the tack while it starts acting up your drop 0 go right back up to 1500 rpm drop back to 0 start back up to 1500 and then dies. I have replace the coil the spark plugs wires cap and rotor and had the distributor modular checked and they should all be good
