Spark Issue
I have a '86 Ford F150 that had a 5.0 and swapped it for a '89 Mustang 5.0 computer system with a Ford Racing EFI Wiring Harness.
I only have spark when the key is turned to the off position after trying to start it. Engine cranks but has no spark to start. When distributer is removed and grounded it can be turned by hand and it gets a consistent spark. I have two distributers and they both do the samething. Both were working when used last. The TFI on one of the distributers has low mileage and the other is stock. Spark has occured during normal cranking but on the next try it goes back to one spark after cranking.
The truck was experiencing a similar start/nostart condition before the wiring harness and computer was even changed.
Please Help.
Did all the ohms tests and they all came up with good readings. Had the distributer tested at NAPA and tey said it was good.
Check the wire from the Ignition Coil tach side to the TFI Module and Power at the TFI Module.
