Has any one ever used a rammount.com mount for tablets and laptops? It's a little late to ask since I just ordered one, but figured I would see what people thought as I wait. Basically I got one for my tablet since I'm in the truck a lot. Basically have 32g of music on here, and the GPS is better on the tablet than the radio I have. Got the mount that mounts on the ground, or one of the front seat mounts, and extends 18 inches high. Reviews I have read beat out most companies I looked through, but figured I'd ask for personal reviews from people I trust.
I use a RAM mount. It connects to the pass seat base bolts. Its sturdy and stays where I put it. I did have to cut the mounting tube because I could not lower it below the dash.
I've bought gps Rammounts for two different motorcycles in the near past and I'm very pleased with the quality. No experience with tablet mounts, but my experience with the company and the product was top notch.
I've had a ram mount gimballed beverage holder mounted on a bicycle for 5 years. It has held up and the bike lives outside. Definitely a quality product. A mount brand I've had good experience with in vehicles is proclipusa. You might want to take a look at their tablet options for a comparison.
I use a RAM netbook mount. Instead of bolting it to the seat I chose to "modify" mine. I bent the aluminum post and mounted it to a padded piece of wood that wedges nicely into my dash pocket. It is just for occasional, temporary use for AE so this way I can just yank it out when I'm done. I use a "mini" mouse on the console, works great. For the music why don't you just use a music player?
The music I do use the radio. It's a double din GPS, DVD, CD, blah blah blah radio with blue tooth and all the goodies. But most my music is downloaded to the sd card on here so I keep this with the blue tooth on in the truck to play what I want to listen to through the truck speakers. You know sometimes I'm not in the mood for what's played on the radio, and why spend money on CD's if I can get what I want to hear free.
And thanks guys for the input. Being good quality was what I was hoping. Some of the others I looked at just looked like junk.
