I hear these folks offer custom tunes for edge cs and cts tuners, including writing out the egr to prevent the cel from tripping. Contact them for more info.
Ok so one more question, and thanks for sticking with me, with it unpluged is it acting the exact same as doing an erg delete kit? It may be a stupid question. what gains have you got out of unpluging yours?
I didn't clarify,,, but both trucks had the egr delete. I never just unplugged it and left it in.

If unplugged the egr will not actuate, thereby keeping exhaust gasses out of the intake. The drawbacks are that the fan kicks on later than normal, which you've already heard. the other thing to keep in mind is that you still have an erg cooler in place that has the potential to fail. Honestly if you're interested in doing it, do it the right way and bypass or delete the cooler.
Btw,, if you want to do the absolute cheapest egr delete, just weld the exhaust input n output ports closed on the egr cooler. Then bolt it back in. Even if its ruptured, it will just fill up with coolant,,, but it won't have anywhere to go. Then you can make a flat plate to cover the egr valve hole, prob could just unplug the valve tho n leave it in. I did this on my first 06,,,, But I made a plate for the valve hole. It'd prob be just the same to put the valve in but leave it unplugged. I wonder with sct written to delete the egr, then weld the cooler, and break the tabs on the electrical connector (so the egr valve can b plugged in without making contact), if it would pass for those needing emission testing???

My fan kicks on full force at 218. I can't say on the 03/04's, but on both my 06's,,, the egr didn't affect the fan at all
I got the edge evolution in the mail the other day my wife bought it as early xmas present hooked up fine like it a lot but...truck had a standard egr delete on it when I got it a few moths ago I keep getting a p401 with engine light I can retrieve and clear the code and cel but keeps coming on every other day. is there a way of stopping this ? edge says they cant help. any input appreciated fellas!
Quick question,,,, what do you mean by a "standard egr delete"?
Honestly cant attest from personal experience, this is only what ive heard. I've chosen to leave mine alone for now, but when i clean it at the 30,000 mark, I'm sure I'll be changing my mind haha
I did the Stealth Delete on Thanksgiving and was running an SCT tuner before so never ran stock with the delete.
I figured what the hell and Monday re-loaded the stock tune and I have yet to have a CEL for the EGR. Although my truck hasn't been flashed since January 2007, that might play a roll in the non-CEL.
