EGR delete code question....

Thanks ahead of time for your patience =).. I am about to have an EGR delete, oil cooler, and HPOP fitting upgrade done on my 06 F250. I am also adding the coolant filter and blue spring upgrade. My question is I have upgraded my old juice attitude (which came with truck) to the newer version with the CTS. From what I gather if or when my truck throws the code the Edge wont get rid of it only the Edge Evo race programmer does that. SO what are my options? Do I still need to buy and SCT JUST to get rid of this light? Tell me there is a better way PLEASE.

Heres truck

First off Welcome to FTE

Sounds like you have done some reaserch on this issue

I dont know if an Edge will turn off a EGR DTC

Most here use the SCT tunner with a custom tune to turn CEL off

what type of EGR Deleate are you installing???? You Plan on leaving the egr valve installed in the intake manafold and plugged into wire harness Right???

I really hate to tell you this but the EDGE Tunners are hard on the Tranny in these best thing you could do is sell the edge and get an SCT tunner

With an SCT tunner you can Kil a Couple Birds with one shot you can turn off the CEL and Keep the Trans in it

Well I would only use it for monitoring purposes and fuel mileage and towing settings. You think it's still a bad choice? If its that bad for
The truck I'll just sell it and get the SCT but I liked all the parameters it measures...sinister delete....

If you use the EDGE to tune your truck in any way the risk of trans failure is there

But I know there are a few on here that have used the EDGE with no problems seems Hit and miss on the EDGE. But like a Bulley Dog theres no ?? if its When will it go out

So if I do stick with it what are my options for the code clearing? Buy an SCT tuner along side to clear the code only?

If your going to buy an SCT tunner might as well tune the truck with it use the edge for a Gauges
