Rear Defroster Fail

So the rear defroster tab has popped off the window. I purchased this kit from O'Reillys but when I clipped the wire back onto the tab it popped the tab right back off. I even waited 48 hours instead of 24 so it had plenty of time to set, even with the cooler temperatures. Okay, so I forgot about it until I took the stroller out and noticed the trim laying in the back of the X... but still, plenty of time to bond well. I'm thinking of calling a glass shop & seeing what they'll charge to reattach. Any other ideas?

I use soldering paste and a high temp soldering iron. You need a high temp iron because you don't want to have the area get real hot, just the spot that you want soldered back together. If you are not comfortable soldering it or don't have a high temp iron then a glass shop is your best bet.

So it's finally fixed (and has worked for awhile now). The glass shop I usually use for chips, etc. said they didn't have a solution that they're comfortable with. Another shop said $60 but no guarantee it'll last. I wasn't comfortable soldering on the glass myself, so I used another Permatex kit and applied an epoxy around the tab AFTER I let the Permatex stuff cure and checked for continuity between the tab and the defroster grid. End result ain't pretty, but it works and you can't see it behind the trim anyway.
