Turning off interior lights

Hello,
We were at the drive in movies, (Yes, there are still a couple still alive around us) we had a comfortable spot in the back all set up. When the rear window was up, the interior lights stayed on. I couldn't find the valet switch to depress/turn them off. How can I turn off the interior lights while the back window is open. I have only had the Excursion for a month so I am still figuring it all out.

Thanks!

you have to add a switch, use the search function to find out which wires to tap into...

I don't know which model you have, but if you leave any of the doors (or back window) open the lights turn off automatically after 3 minutes on my 03 Limited.

There may be a relay you could add if you don't have it.

And get to the movie a few minutes early.

good luck

I have a '04X LT. I tried that. I left the back window open and after 15 minutes the lights were still on...ugh!

I added the "interior dome override" mod
On. My '05 the wire is behind the pass side
Kick panel. Running board lites are powered by
another feed, but i like shutting off ALL the
interior lights when needed.
Ran wires up to overhead between side swingout
window swirches like others did. Looks great.

Anyone know which fuse controls the interior lights? A quick fix would be to just pull a fuse, wouldn't it?

Same here. We head down to the Mesa drive-in in Pueblo all the time but this will be the first year with the Ex.

I also added the switch. The lights would stay on while packing for camping. And the drive in. Added switch is the answer.
