I had the same thing happen in my 400 between 1 and 2. Upon closer inspection the head was cracked and so was the block.

Nah, put it back together with that gasket. Install air hose fittings in the spark plug holes for those 2 cylinders, and you got yourself a built in compressor for an air locker, tires, etc..
