Hasn't come on at all. I hear that's not out of the norm though. The only time the light came on was a couple of weeks ago when I was having the major issues when it was freaking cold and cranking for 10-15 seconds.
as long as you can monitor it I bet you might get another Month out of it as long as Everything eles OK Like Batterys and cables
I'm concerned about the FICM seeing as with the current voltage, it is only holding 11.5-12.0 at idle (FLP/FVP) and has a hard time holding 13.0-13.5 at highway speeds. I don't need to kill another one or the wife will surely murder me for having to buy another one so soon.
OK, time to update this thread. So my mechanic is finally back at work and we were able to get the truck scanned. This was great timing because the no starts were getting to be daily. I had started to suspect that the batteries were giving me grief as well, but we load tested them and the are still good. Anyhow, it turns out that the problem all along was the GPCM. The #8 injector had a code in the computer but now that the glow plugs are working it runs SOOOOO much better. It doesn't even smoke on start up anymore. Now all I need to do is find a warm day to pull the turbo because the vanes are starting to stick on me. Always something to do when you own a 6.0L.
HaHa I win... see post #14 Glad you got things figured out.
LOL. Yep, you sure did. I had been suspecting it as well, but there was so much other stuff going on that I started looking elsewhere. I just wanted to get it scanned before I spent any more money needlessly.
