Alright guys so as I said im building a 62 f100. Well in my quest to get rid of the marker lights/turn signals I found a complete 65/66 grill with the metal panel that goes above the grill. What is this piece called? Ive heard header panel and all kinds of names so im just trying to get to the bottom of it. I am looking for one from a 61-64 so that it will be slick and smooth. Ive called all over the place trying to find a new one and cant seem to find one...Any ideas??? Any input/help is much appreciated!

Yes!!! That's the exact look! Well now that I know what it's actually called that will help! I called LMC truck and all kinds of places and never actually got a name of what it was called...also no one seemed to have it! Guess I'll start scanning eBay and craigslist!! Thanks for the input!

What would I need to do to make my 66 have that look?
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but basically use the 65/66 grills not sure if they are different or not design wise then go find a 61-64 upper valence to get rid of where the turn signals are and I think that'll do it! Sorry I don't know the exact years of difference I'm still learning the differences myself I've been around street rods and muscle cars so this is my first go round on a truck
Ok so I'll explain it as best as I can without having them with me to show picture wise... So basically were going to take this headlight

Open it up and they are going to put a single projector similar to one of these except with the shroud painted red to match the bottom of the truck and possibly even a different style shroud

Now for the uncertain..... Either we are going to have a red ring like this around the "eye"
http://www.flickr.com/photos/90745827@N07/8245709493/http://www.flickr.com/photos/90745827@N07/8245709493/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/90745827@N07/, on Flickr
If we go with that route there will be a orange led ring hidden behind the shroud that is the turn signal that when turned on the headlight will glow on and off orange
Or the second option is to make the back glow red like this
http://www.flickr.com/photos/90745827@N07/8245709481/http://www.flickr.com/photos/90745827@N07/8245709481/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/90745827@N07/, on Flickr
And make either that led ring on the front the turn signal or just hide one behind also and do away with the ring on the front. The issue with the second way is if they are both behind the projector it will be a cluster of orange and red when the turn signal is on
Then the lens will go back on and seal all up just like it was made that way
Not sure how this is gonna turn out or which way but were gonna give it a shot
What's y'all's opinion?
I would put a set behind the grill with smoked lenses.
I have a nice set of Harley turn signals that arent worth much to sell, but would work great there.
Now to find the Valance.
That's a good idea but I think I'm gonna try being innovative looking first and see how that goes.
Yes! That's the tricky part, finding the valance. I found a couple trucks people wanted to part out on Craigslist so I'm going to start calling in the morning. In the pictures the valance was there, hopefully it still is
