Running rough intermittent
Hey guys, just got back from a drive and had a weird experience that I want an opinion on. Driving up a hill, second gear on my 1995 7.3 5 speed. All of the sudden the check engine light comes on and it started running rough, kind of a lope or a miss. I quickly depressed the clutch and it dropped to around normal rpm's for idle but was still loping. I gave it some fuel and the rpm's went up and then the check engine light turned off and it returned to normal. No other signs since then and I havn't got a scan tool on it yet. Any ideas come to mind?

How is your oil level?

How old is your oil?

What oil are you running?

I havn't checked the oil level in a few weeks, just changed the oil about 2k miles ago. I'm running Rotella t 15w 40. I'll check that out though asap. Would low oil cause something like that?

Yes, low oil will cause problems like that.
