Def has delete. I am hoping a new cap fixes it. I don't think I am seeing puking. I am just seeing a few drops. Not major evidence of spraying coolant or white residue...recently changed t-stat...ect pretty steady at 190. Eot in city at 197, hwy at 205-208. I use the torque app. Thanks.

Well if thats the case Verify Cold Soak ECT & EOT Temps after truck sits all night

Should be same temp after 10-20 seconds after startup

If delts still 18 hwy you need a new oil cooler

Also the Coolant leval needs to be at the Low Mark on Bottle Low is Full

I will check cold soak... I keep fill level about half inch below the old min mark. I guess a pressure check under load will tell me if I am screwed or not?!

18 highway unloaded is no bueno.

It would be interesting if all that is changed is the oil cooler and the puking goes away.

Is this an actual EGR delete or a blocked cooler? I could see a compromise stealth delete causing havoc

I have real delete...it is a "first coast diesel performance" modified intake manifold egr delete...I am definitely planning on doing the oil cooler...planning on doing it myself with several other of the standard fixes while in there...However, if my headgaskets are bad, I will have to have a shop repair that cause I have no way of lifting them out, plus the time factor. And I was thinking if the HGs are bad I would also just let the shop do the oil cooler as well...

Tomorrow I will try to get my degas bottle gauged up and see what kind of pressure I am building in there under load...

Thanks for the help.

So the EGR Valve is Gone

You need the EGR Valve Plugged in for Fan Operation

Maybe your losing coolant because the Fan Not working Right

If I was you I would test for EXHAUST GAS in the Coolant

Get a EGR Valve Plugged back in

Change the Cap

And Test with the Strips for exhaust gas

Replace the Oil Cooler it needs it Anyway you want Cooled Oil Regaurdless

Cold soak temps were all the same this morning. I am concerned about the possibility of my fan not coming up to speed if needed, but I don't think I have reached the necessary temps...my temps hold steady between 188-194 or so...

I "teed" in a gauge to the degas bottle and ran the truck up to temperature...Then I opened the degas bottle to relieve any pressure build up caused by the fluids/air heating up, then closed it up...The pressure on my gauge spiked up pretty quick to 15-16psi...And stayed there...I didn't even have to romp on it to get it to spike up...I relieved the pressure again and sealed it up, and just idling in the driveway the pressure very steadily climbed up to 15psi. So I guess this is pretty definitve for blown headgaskets? Normal coolant system pressure runs about 6-10psi right?

Thanks!

Sounds like head gaskets to me with no EGR cooler in the system.

Josh

X-2 here as well

Probably stretched Bolts

The Coolant Bottle Cap Vents at 16psi or you would see Higher PSI

Sorrey Man that Sucks ARP Stud or H1-11 Studs and OEM Gaskets and be Done with it

Might as well make shure you have all the other updated parts to so you wont have to do anything for along time

If I was you I would get a OEM Intake manafold to put back in so you can put the EGR Valve in for the FAN PLUS it Looks more like everything is there if you got checked

That EGR Valve will Help the fan work right and will ALSO keep the PCM Happey

Try A Junkyard

As a similar respect NASCAR engines use 0W20 oil (Straight 0W qualifying oil) and run a steady 280-300 degrees. Flash point for most diesel oils is around 415 degrees.

Josh
Since you are asking, the correct value is 253 degrees.
