I have been thinking about adding another leaf or just going with bags. The spring might effect the ride when not loaded though. I also have found it a little difficult to find the bags, the dually is a little different to install (less clearance).
I called Firestone today Rich about the air bags I have on the mule. I found the manuel for them from five years ago and mine are the RR2071. The tech guy told me that the dually called for the same air bags. I'm not sure about the clearance but this is something that will be at the bottom of my list. Guessing, I'll want them on there even if I don't run as much air as I have with the mule. Ninty is the max and I usually ran 70 in them. With a one ton over a three quarter ton I will guess that 40 lbs. would be good.
I've had dura liners and rubber mats and stuff gets under them and you can't wash is out. Also, if water gets under there it will rust the bed out. I think this will work out the best. I also like it on the bed rails, better then scraching them up.
Herculiner, IMO, cannot be compared with Rhino liner and Linex. Rhino and Linex are just in another catagory.
I'm not sure which one will last longer, but I like Rhino more as it is a bit more "rubbery" than Linex and grips things better. Linex is harder than Rhino, so it might last a bit longer I would think.
I had Rhino in my last truck and liked it a lot. Like Travis is saying it was "rubbery" enough that it would keep things from sliding around back there too much. It was possible to nick it though. Rhino, at least the stuff I have seen is a lot harder, and not as soft and rubbery. Good in some ways, bad in others I am sure. I don't think any of them protect against impact as well as a drop in bedliner though. But then you have the issue of stuff getting under the liner, it staying wet, rust, etc.... Pick your poison, I guess.

Glenn, thats good info. I'll file it for future use. May just wait to see what and if you think there is a need.
Here is a pic of how mine sets this was at a RV park on the way to AZ. I think the pic actually looks worse than it really is.
I know Rich, some pictures I take the rear looks lower then it really is. I like your outfit, I still think it belongs down here, not up there in the cold. LOL
On subject, good and a little bad. The front end alignment guy said who ever had this pickup took good care of it!! Big relief because the top of the front tires were definitely IN at the top. He said he had to shim it and all it good. Shocks are new, tie rods good and it even has a steering shock absorber. Was this a add on or original equipment on 97's? The not so happy news is my nephew said he has to move some stuff around and I can't get into his warehouse until Monday. No big deal but I'm really anxious to 'tear it apart', LOL I'll probably do some small stuff in the mean time.

Be happy. just gives you a little more time to get some of the small stuff taken care of
Here is a pic of my steering shock absorber (stabilizer) kinda looks like mine could be original.
That's gonna be an awesome setup glenn. Can't wait to see how it performs. Just to be on the safe side. Send it all to me first so I can make sure it all works well before you hook it to the 5er. I think you'll like the dually.
Thanks Jeffery, I'll fax it to you for testing, LOL I also can't wait for 'testing'. LOL
Ya Gabe, I think its pretty solid but I have found more rust since buying it. Nothing serious though. If Rich converted to a SRW it would be just like the mule. LOL Made any more process
Waiting on parts for axle swap right now, then i should be done for the year. I need to get a couple christmas gifts ordered. I found out there is a group buy for redhead steering boxes so that will probly get added to the list too.
