400M in a 78 F250 4x4

I pulled mine off a couple of weeks ago to install new motor mounts. Figured I'd clean up up and paint em too.

Bonus:
These are my new mounts from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard. Extreme Duty p/n 20990. (They don't come painted.)

Thanks for posting the pics Kikkup!

And those JBG mounts are a direct ripoff of the mounts John at autofab has been making for years.

Never knew that and I've been bragging them up well either way they are a damn good mount no matter who made them although I did run a thin tig weld bead around the outside of the bolt, just to be sure because I didn't feel all that safe with it just what looked like a little more than a good tack on the back side of them. I tossed my L&L's last summer in favor of a set.

Swapping my 1976 Fl50 I6 for a 351 W

Hey folks, I 'm on a mission to find perches for my 351W and all of what you all have stated so far is really helpful.
But, I really need help finding these perches at the Salvage yard. How do I know what I'm looting at when there isn't an engine in the compartment? Should I be looking for 73-79 F-250's, or looking at the vin # 's to verify there was a 302, 351W, 351C, 400, etc?
Any help is appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken, the 302 mounts are what you want for a 351W.

Your right, but what do I look for at the junk yard especially when there isn't an engine in the cab. Maybe vin #?

Thanks ChaseTruck,. That's a good idea, but I would perfer if someone can tell me how tall they are left & right Purch is. Then all I would need is a measure tape and a 73-79 F-Series truck at the salvage yard.

ANYONE KNOW THE MEASUREMENTS OF THOSE PURCHES?

I'm sure I'm dreaming, but you never know. Thanks y'all
