where did you install the e-pump?
an e-pump won't help you if you have a leak before the pump, such as at the fuel selector valve, rusted out fuel lines, pickups,or broken off pickup screen.
does she run the same way on both tanks?
if you are going to use an E-pump, use the facet duralift 40285 pump. 4 to 7 psi, and 33 gph.
almost exactly what the stock pump delivery rates are.
plus it will straight lift 10 ft, so you can mount it at the filter instead of at the tank.

X2 on the duralift. there expensive, but there worth it. they are OEM pumps on refer units on trailers, they last forever.
it sounds like you have problems elsewhere. exactly what is the problem your haveing
The cheapest I found my facet pump was from a place like RacerPartsWarehouse or RacerPartsOnline. I can't remember exactly, but I'm sure if you google it with "facet" it'll appear.
well I think your problem is where you mounted your pump. A mr gasket needs to be close to the fuel source. those pumps arent designed to pull that far from the tank. i could be wrong though.

i don't see the duralift there.
that's the one thats made for diesels, made to pull upwards of 10' and is used on the refer trucks.
price for the better pump from GenLightening even still than found there fwiw.
josh,i like many have tried those green mr gasket pumps.they just don't last.mine went 20k miles/1 yr.
like Forddiesel17 says they need to push fuel, not try and suck it up like the refer pumps can.even if you got it to work up there (id be surprised) she'd just burn out quick.

I just checked the site and couldn't find the duralift anymore, so I suspect they don't stock it anymore. There was a diesel pump there, but it was 6.5-7.5 psi. Probably not enough for our trucks.
Maybe I'll get one from that GenLighting guy for a backup. How much does he sell his for? I've always pushed my fuel (on other vehicles) so 10' pulling limitation is not a big deal for me.
Why not push all the time? Especially considering I have a Ford Van and VW Jetta TDI, I have to put my pumps where I have room, and on the underside of the vehicle made more sense than mounting in the engine compartment and taking up valuable real estate.
per forum rules, you'll just have to send him a pm.you'll see it's priced very reasonable (surprisingly so.)
they can push fuel ok too.one guy had trouble, but that is only because he has a massive in bed tank, and she didn't like that much pressure.stock tanks shouldn't be an issue.
well whats nice is up in the engine bay,it's very easy to service/clean,and it's well protected up high under cover.im sure you can rig up a skid plate/small enclosed protective box if needed down on the frame.
