Hey everybody, i have a couple questions for you but first a little back ground on my truck. it is an 2006 F250 w/ the 6.0. I bought my truck 1 year ago and it had 77k on it. The previous owner passed away and his wife was selling the truck and knew very little about it. I now have 130k on the truck and i was going back through the truck cleaning it out and found a F50/F55 Remove vehicle control system, car start and convenience system book. The previous owner could only find 1 remote for the vehicle and it was the oem remote.
I am courius if he installed the remote start on my truck and if i could just order a new remote and have it working? i looked about the rearview mirror where the antanna should be installed but its not there. any ideas on what to look for to see if its there? thanks, rhine.
Most of the time the RS system will be installed in the drivers warranty. Look under the drivers dash and see if there is maybe a module under there. If its not an after market remote start then it will be installed on your passenger side. If you clear out the glove box and fold it out you can see the wiring and PCM in there. Best bet is to look on the side wall in there and look for an antenna wire that might be straying back to the passenger door
