After my rad developed some pin hole leaks I decided to check the SCA level. I haven't checked it since I flushed and replaced with Fleetguard coolant about 20K ago.
Tested it tonight and found the coolant is at .6 SCA units per gal.. Not good.
I have one pint of Fleetguard DCA4 at my disposal and it says it will add 5 units per pint.
My question is, will it add 5 units to the whole system or ?
If I recall correctly, two pints makes the whole system good. But, maybe someone else should back me up on that. Lately, I just use the pre mixed stuff.
Can u over fill the sca in our system. I have never checked it but doing a rad and coolent flush. Then adding a coolent filter with 12 units of sac. Is that to much? Have one with 6. I plan to run it 10,000 mile then change it. Also what do u guys run for anti freeze? Money tight so please keep that in mind.
