The brake lines on my '66 are, of course, shot. I'll be replacing them in their entirety. I'm swapping over to power brakes at the same time. My question is can I order pre-bent lines for a '67, which has a dual chamber MC, and make them work without reinventing the wheel?
Just make sure the lines you order match the year of the master. Some are left exit and some are right exit. You will also need the matching safety valve.
Not sure bout 67 but they do make pre bent lines in either flex or rigid for 61-66? Replaced the brake line several yrs. ago on the 65 when I swapped to the p/s upgrade. Found the the local auto part stores carry the brake lines in either ridit or flexible lines that come in a roll and the ridig come in various lengths. I went with the ridid and then it was a matter of bending, cutting to desired length, and flaring. Regardless of which, suggest pass the line thru a piece of hose whereever the line passes thru an opening, bracket, etc. to prevent damage due to vibration.
I would give inline tube a call and thell them what you are doing. They should be able to hook you up with exactly what you need.
I'll give them a call. I'm further complicating this by converting the rear drums to discs. I'm using NPD's booster /master cylinder and a combo valve tuned for 4 wheel discs. I'll have to make a slight modification to the rear brake lines to accommodate the hoses to the calipers. I know that 4 wheel discs overkill on these trucks. It's just a matter of preference.
For the price and ease of installiation, I would go with a kit on my 66 if they offer one.
I thought our 9in axles had the small bearing, but I looked at mine and it sure looks like the large bearing to me.
They do. The whole shooting match is around $530. $580 for cross drilled rotors The pics on their website show everything. It all looks like new stuff to me. It includes all necessary spacers and longer flange bolts. The best part is, it's all Ford parts.
It's the cheapest complete rear disc conversion I've found thus far.
