Oh no, I just found a pin hole in my trucks front brake line. And while I was inspecting the brake lines I notice the power steering line was rusted bad. Where can I procure a factory replacement besides the overly priced dealer thanks CT
confused:
Junkyards. I have a pile of old brake lines, most from ABS trucks. Many parts stores can reman your PS line, and they also sell straight brake lines and benders so you can make your own NEW ones.
Just a little extra note on the brake lines, you'll need 3/16 line, for which you don’t need a line bender. You can bend a sharp 90 and it won’t kink.
I replaced every dang line in my truck bending them by hand (rusted line busted while braking almost got into an accident), and you would never know it by looking at them, they look stock.
Just bend the line using the old one as a reference, making sure every bend is the same.
O-Reillys stocked my PS pressure line- cost about $18. Brake lines can be easily bent by hand and the parts stores carry many different lengths. Bring in your old lines (at least the ends) so they match up the right flare nuts.
