To convert from non Intermitent to Intermitent, you need the Intermitent switch and the Intermitent black control box and you plug it into your existing wiring.
ok, so, I called the dealership and they said it would be $60.00 for the switch. does the black box come with it. if so, can you give me instructions on how to install!!
My 1978 f150 doesn't have the intermitent wiper switch either. Can someone explain why the wipers don't return to the bottom of the windsheld when I turn them off? Have changed the switch but it didn't fix the problem.
Wipers not parking could be a bad ground at the wiper motor. Try using a jumper wire from the wiper motor to a good ground. If they park ok, then a bad ground is the problem.

No the governor doesn't come with it.
That's just for the switch.
The last Ford price for the governor I have, was $185.00.
the intermittent wipers are a truck only item. the cars and vans use a similar but different set up. the truck unit is neat because it evolved from a mustang/torino unit (early ones have torino switches still, lots of money to the torino guys!) but have a much better govenor. the car and van units mostly use a slide switch rather than a rotary switch and fords with slide switches have different plug assemblies and won't interchange. the rotary style can be retrofitted to any ford with a rotary switch like old mustangs and i even put one in my 65 ford econoline pick up! (to put it in the econoline you have to use a 66 or 67 wiper motor though). the truck unit is pretty much the same all the way up to the late 80's but i am told there is one less connector for the washers (have not checked yet) but it works fine by moving one wire. hawkrod
