Extended Cab Windows

The 1980-1991 extended cab trucks have that bar going down the middle of the extended window. Can those be removed? I don't have one, but I have looked into getting one. It wouldn't be a deal breaker or anything, I just don't like the way it looks and would want to get rid of it if I could.

I don't think its as simple as it looks like it might be. The cab is different there than the 92-96 with the smooth non bar window. The truck would most likely be better off if that was just left alone. This is just my two cents.

On a 80-91 the window is installed from the "inside", on the 92-97 it is installed from the outside. So NO

this guy did it:

"I also did what everybody said couldnt be done... I installed 92+ quarter windows in a 91- truck... The hole is a bit smaller, but can be made to work...."

anything can be done i suppose with enough determination, skill and or money.
that said,9th gen trucks are not exactly hard to find yet and probably wont be for at least another 20 yrs cus they made so dang many of 'em.so just look for the 92-97 trucks in the first place if that's what you prefer.it would be of course much easier.

I would think you can do anything to your truck if you put your mind to it and take your time to make it look good...

The 92-97 windows are also taller to you can't just go get a window and swap it out.

Sorry for delay, but I didn't get an email notification for some reason like I usually do, but thank you for the insight. I figured anything was possible, but I'm not one for much body work. I just wondered if it was just like a plastic insert popped on there, but I see it would take a good bit more work to get it to work.
