Ignition Issue

So one day after driving my 04 Expedition NBX, the girlfriend went to drive and one she went to turn the key to start, all power to the vehicle failed. I was able to jump the truck to get it started but once I restarted the car it would fail again. After replacing the battery, the truck started right up. Now it happened again. I got advice and it was suggested that the ignition switch is faulty. Has anyone had a similar issue and what is the difficulty level of fixing this part.

Read your codes. It may be neutral start. Try shift from park to neutral. See if it will start.

U need to remove the battery and charge it, then start and run it and read the codes after 30 minutes. Fuse 101 is a 30 amp for the starter relay. middle large relay in fuse panel is for accessory delay relay change it with the bottom row large relay, see if it helps. Your battery cables contain 2 fuse links which can blow test with an ohm meter for continuity. the lead to the alternator contains a fuse link check it with a ohm meter. The cables where they connect often corrode and pass not a large current flow. Look for blu-green corrosion. Fuse 1.5 is 7.5 amp and feeds delay relay, including the vehicle security module and most of the things needed to go. Also check 1.41 a 20 amp fuse. Your manual will be helpful to you looking for a bad fuse or relay position.

I appreciate the reply. I was able to locate the issue. I went to jump the truck, and when I connect just the positive jumper cable, without being connected to the other vehicle, the car came back to life. When I tried to start it, it again went completely dead. I noticed that when I turned the key into the 'start' position, there was a spark on the of the battery cables. A ground was being made on the on of the cable connected to it and was shorting the car. I cleaned the cables and put some electric tape around the metal piece causing the issue, hopes this fixes it.
