Been around for a while ... just don't post a lot.
My 6.0L PSD is sickly and am in need of a reputable mechanic or shop in the Ft. Worth area.
I've contacted cheezit and he is out of the industry now. I also saw a recommendation for Farmer's in Athens. That's a little further than I wanted to go.
There is a shop SW of Ft. Worth called Mac's. Anyone ever had any experience with them?
Any recommendation ... good or bad ... is welcome.
sorry to hear bout ur six-oh probs. hope u get her fixed soon. come find us in the 6.0 forums. u might be able to diagnose it better. most of us may be able to point u in the right direction.
Welcome to the neighborhood. While I'm currently in Texarkana and have been for the last sixteen years, I am from Tyler and am down that way just about every month.
Sorry I can't help on the PSD problem. All my Ford Truck driving kinfolk drive gas pushers. The only one that has a diesel is my brother-in-law, and he's the blacksheep driving a Chevy Durimax with an Allison tranny. It's a company truck anyway so when it gets sick, it goes where ever the lease company tells him to take it.
Lake Palestine isn't far from you in J'ville and neither is Bullard. That's my home lake and where I plan to retire. I've got two lots at Eagle's Bluff waiting on me, so I'll be back in the not too distant future, unless I sell those in favor of moving to Lake Fork.
I dunno if u would want to tackle the problem urself. If u do, send me a PM with a description of the problem and I'll do my best to point u in the right direction.
where is Matt located? is he experienced with the 7.3 engines as well?
I might need a trusted Austin area mechanic when I come to town!
Matt is very familiar with the 7.3 since he used to have one that he did plenty of mods to. Unfortunately for you, he's in Fort Worth, not Austin.
I do know of a young Ford diesel tech that could work on it down in Austin, or you can look up the boys at Death Row Diesel. They're very familiar with the 7.3
