Hey everyone, hows it going?
So here's whats going on, and I have read through the forums and searched, but I just want a more specific answer now that I've narrowed some stuff down.
Truck:
2005 F250 6.0l
What Happened:
Driving down interstate at ~60mph. Truck died and will not start. Will crank for days on end though.
What I've done:
Verified fuel pump is working by ensure it is filling the fuel filter.
Primed the fuel system as much as I know how to.
Verified FICM voltage @ 48 volts at all times.
Replaced both fuel filters.
Ensured the fuel cutoff switch wasn't engaged.
What I haven't done:
Verified HPOP pressure (Voltage @.8 at ICP, right?)
Verified if injectors are operating correctly (Anybody know how?)
Things I've Noticed:
1) No oil pressure rise during cranking -> Not sure I've ever noticed that though
2) Slight clicking noise when fuel pump is running -> Could just be me being paranoid because I read about that though
3) Bubbles in the fuel filter after I let the fuel pump run then open the fuel filter housing...they are very small, not sure if that's common or not?
Does anybody have any recommendations for me? I'm at a loss as to what to do.
To Do List:
1) Pull oil filter and verify it fills with oil when cranking
2) Scan for DTC
You need a ScanGaugeII or a DashBoss one of these would help
Pull the Oil Filter Out and Crank truck does it Fill the Housing fairly Fast it should
It has to be a Longer crank to register Oil Press on Dash 10-20 seconds or so
Just pull filter and check that way its easy and you need LPO to make HPO
We can verify the stuff you didnt lets start with LPO at the filter
check fuses
Scan for DTC
But 2005 do have HPO issues but are Great after a Couple Updated Parts
air bubbles in fuel cause to run ROUGH but do Usually start unless way bad
wow...ICP is on the passenger side? I thought I was unplugging it on the drivers side...I wonder what that was then? looked exactly like what I thought the ICP looked like :/
and DVM?
The Snap To Connect fitting (STC) will usually give you an advanced warning of hard warm starts, starts when cold. Let us no jump to conclusions yet and do check a few more items.
I agree - not jumping to any conclusions at all John - just communicating possibilities. An STC fitting is no harder than changing an LPOP .............
(and if you ask me, every 05 and up should change it out as a preventative maintenance item if they are going to keep the truck for 250k + miles).

Oh I know.... Just wondering if the original poster experienced any hard starts at operating temperature. So how was turkey day, all fat and sassy and feel like the Goodyear Blimp?
I never experienced any hard starts at operating temperature. At ambient temperature on the other hand...It would take quite a few cranks to get it to start, and when it did start it would shoot out a tiny plum of white smoke followed by a massive cloud of black smoke and then clear up and run fine.
Hey everyone so I have an update.
I replaced the STC fitting yesterday, put it all back togethor...and still no start. So I stuffed a gas covered rag in the intake and tried to help "jump start" it. So after doing that the truck would start, but only run for a few seconds off of the fumes.
Any ideas, or common issues with low pressure oil I should look for?
