I would like to upgrade to a 4" exhaust and a 5 or 6" tip on my 89 7.3 but i don't want to wear ear plugs while driving. Can anyone point me in the direction of a muffler?
idk about mufflers... but i can tell you my 86 6.9 has a 3 1/2 inch and with my windows up and even down i can easily carry on a conversation in my cab... behind the truck is a different story though
my friend has a stock 7.3 psd exhaust on his truck(stock muff that is on that system as well). his truck is a 7.3 idi n/a. thing sounds mean as hell. talks to ya when you get on it but is quiet when cruising. it has a NICE rumble to it and it anything but annoying.
Diamond eye kit for a 94-97 7.3PSD will work at least on the Turbo trucks, youll have to custom fit the y-pipe but otherwise its basiclly a bolt on. Mines a turbo but with a 4" straight pipe unless you get on it at low RPM the engine is still louder then the exhaust inside the truck.
Well um in Oklahoma so um going to have to look else were. And ok thanks hairy. Straight pipe will be in order. But would a straight threw muffler give it a different sound other than a high rpm pop?
