New Tires

Just a quick note that I replaced my Goodyear tires with Michelin's a few weeks ago and they smooth on the highway!

We will see how they perform in the snow very soon!

I will say the Goodyear silent armors I had on were great in the snow. But noisy on the highway.

I live 2 hours north east of Toronto so I get good snow.

Well I got my first winter test with these new tires and they worked great. Took kids north for a weekend of camping and it snowed the entire time. They even worked great going in a long hilly access road to camp.

They look like nice tires. I know the Hankook Dynapro's are junk. I had 2 tread separations in less than 40,000 miles. I bought 4 Bfgoodrich Allterrains and have been very happy with them. We don't get much snow here in South Jersey though. They are severe snow rated for whoever that concerns.

Last month I had to replace a Michelin on my F150 b/c of belt separation. Was convinced a vibration at speed & pulsing when coasting to stop emanated from 1 YO front right Firestone tire. Discovered left rear Michelin tire was out of round, after being unable to find fault at front. Suspected damage from potholes encountered on New England trip, hit some bruisers.

Michelin was 2 YO, but only about 12,000 miles & barely show wear. The out of round was noticeable spinning wheel on lift, but ~1/8" tops. Didn't look equal to the way it felt. When the air was let out the Michelin deformed markedly & became even more twisted once off rim!

Never saw such a contorted tire tread. This is where those peeled off tire treads littering highways come from.

Going through day 2 of snow and freezing rain and these tires are doing a great job.

Van is always staying in control.

I am on my 2nd set of Michelin LTX M/S tires on my van and believe that God intended these tires for vans and trucks. I am actually surprised that Ford used such a great tire as the OEM tires on my van.

I have been through 9 Michigan winters with mine and have never stuck the van. (I do have an Eaton posi in the rear axle, put in shortly after I bought it.) The tires ride great, get thru most everything, are quiet, and are great for fuel economy.
