thinking of selling my 05 f-250 diesel and buying a mint 1996 250 diesel with 160 000 kms truck has been maintained to the max! My truck has same kms but scared of the 6.0 liter. What your thoughts? Just heard the 7.3 was best?
I don't know if I'd be scared of the 6.0 that much. You a one owner of it? You'll be disappointed in the power loss in stock form the 7.3 has. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have my 7.3, but the later 6.0s have less problems, and if you're a one owner truck, well, it's your decision. A few maintence things to the 6.0 and it will last a while.
What is done to your 6.0? In all honesty, if i had a 6.0 id spend the money to fix the problem areas (egr, head studs/gasket, etc) and have a truck just as reliable as the 7.3. Then again you also have to consider the body style. What cab does it have? Crew, single, extended? What are your uses for the truck? You also have to consider the fact that any older vehicles, despite maintenance and reliability, they will need work. Just some things to consider. Fuel mileage really isn't that big of a change between the two from all ive heard. You can get 18 with a 7.3 as long as YOU DRIVE like you WANT 18 mpg.
well I think my deals falling through.! The guy happens to be workn out of country and wants to do the deal through goggle wallet! Sounds fishy, the truck is to good to be true for the price. But would kill me it it was real.
