I have just replaced the battery, the crank is nice and strong. I took the air cleaner off and when I push the throttle down it does not seem like the jets are injecting fuel. What could some of my culprits be? where should I check
Fuel pump? Fuel lines? Remove line before pump and see if fuel leaks out. If you got fuel then remove after pump and crank motor....does it shoot fuel?
Actually, my truck did a crank no-start and I thought it "had to be something electrical or a bad line somewhere" and spent two days going over everything... just to find that it only needed more gas in the tank. -- which by the way is what my wife suggested...hahaha.
Should have just taken her thoughts under consideration..
I took the lines off of the input and output of the mechanical fuel pump. and I had a filter coming right out of the tank, took both sides off. not even a drop of gas. I have never had the low gas problem and i have drove the truck daily for 2 years, could be, Id like buying gas more then buying a new fuel pump. What are your guys thoughts
Dump a shotglass of gasoline down the carb. If it fires and then dies, your ignition is okay, you have a fuel delivery problem.
+1
all an engine needs is gas, spark and compression. i doubt its compression. and if she doesnt fire when you prime it (Method above) then check for spark
if you have a long enough piece of fuel hose and a good amount of lung capacity or an air compressor you might take the hose off from before the fuel pump and blow back into the tank (take gas cap off) if your tank is dirty or full of rust the pickup tube might be blocked off and not able to suck any fuel and this is a free thing to check and saves time and hassle along with unnecessarily bought parts trust me i have been through this before
