Out of the blue the other day my tranny in my Taurus started revving like the trans was slipping really bad. From what I have read, It could be something as like a flow problem or that the trans is now junk.
I haven't experienced any issues up til then and the car now has 122,000 miles. The instrument cluster shows the check transmission warning.
Does anyone have any insight on this? What it may be and how much it takes to fix?
Nobody knows without knowing what code has been stored. When the check transmission warning turned on one or more codes were stored to tell what's wrong. Without the codes all anyone knows is that something is wrong.
The auto parts stores that read codes free can't read Ford transmission codes. You'll have to pay an independent shop or a dealer to read the codes. Then a proper diagnostic can be done.
