New Stereo Threw Code In PCM
Ok had a Kenwood 719 installed by a local shop. Same shop installed basically the same head unit in my 01 and 06 250. No issues.
I have the head unit playing dvds on the factory flip down, and put a back up camera on the back. All was well then about 3 days later, no speedo, check engine light on and flashing OD light. Truck drove fine. Had buddy a dealership working on it on the side. showed loss of signal from pcm to abs module. For kicks i replaced the VSS, nothing changed. Today my buddy dug a little deeper and the PCM said it was getting an additional 12 volts. Buddy unplugged stereo from factory harness, reset codes and now speedo works no check engine and no flashing od. Appears something in the stereo itself or install is causing the issue. Anyone have any ideas? Obviously Monday it will go back to the stereo shop, but a little perplexed as he has done a ton of work for me and neer had an issue.
