ATTN: Forum users, please read!

Lately I have been getting a few e-mails from people, asking questions that really should be on the board. Please remember that no question is a dumb question, and I am sure that there are other people available that can benefit from the responce to your question. I want to keep this forum as informative, helpful, and well organized as possible, and I need everybodys help and co-operation to acheive that.

every time i come in here i seem to be looking for the same things: Parts supply info; shop info,ie schematics, shortcuts, things to be sure to do(for my truck). One of you (from each catagory of truck)needs to post where they are getting parts(wether new or used.)Still others need post shop info, or where to get it.
I may be out of turn, but its true, i need more from this wonderful tool you have here. I like to read up on all yall's experiences but I do need help with my little Ford Truck problems. IE 1985 F-250 diesel dually XLT fuel system. It also seems to me that when i have posted a problem, i get A one person answer, after that, no one else seems inclined to respond. I want everyones' 2 cents.
What we need, again ,is a group of posts or somthing that is always here to guide everyone to the same answers. Maybe we should have to get permission to post a new problem in certain areas of this site, that way we can see problems and answers posted once. And know that a particular prob got the attention it deserved. If I am wrong, then tell me where to get all my truck's available info. It seems like i spend more time describing a problem here then actually fixing it in my shop. I've been looking for solutions for my fuel system for so long. I need any and all data from yous on my new 1985 truck. This (for me) is on going, not a one time post that you'll never hear from me again, but an on going High Speed Internet Ford Truck Troubleshooting Forum.
Really, if there is anything you can tell me about my particular Truck, contact me immediately ! Thank You !

An index of problems that have been have been solved would be great!. No more searching the forums, just an index. The reason I say this is because of the low success rate of the results found because of the numerous ways things are described in posts. Abbreviations and nicknames used to describe parts and such can get confusing to new users. When this website was newer and the post numbers were lower then the variety of ways problems and solutions were described were also lower. Today the numbers are huge and a person can get overwhelmed at the matches obtained from a search. I have given up on searches personally because of this.

Why not just have a tech article minded index list for even the smaller problems that eliminates wild goose chases through a mountain of old forum posts? It would be more efficient and free up everyone to give more one on one help to someone that can really use it. Just think of it as a search for glue at the hardware store. You go to the isle which has adhesives, then you walk down it to where the adhesives are located. All you have to do then is determine which glue is best suited for your repair. You see, you don't find everything that may have adhesive in a products description on that shelf, just adhesives.

Anytime you find an article within the carb and EFI forum that solves your problem, either e-mail me a link to it, or post the link here. Once I have a few of these articles grouped together, I will make another sticky post to serve as an index.

It is a thread that stays stuck to the top instead of going down the page as more threads are posted.

RE: The "Autolite/ Motorcraft cfm ratings and general info" Post

The data for the Autolite 4 BBL carb is wrong. I personally tested those carbs and the 1.08 is about 440 CFM and the 1.12s averaged 520 CFM.

The details are are on my site:
