2011 F150 - missing part or sensor on dash??

2011 F150 - missing part or sensor on dash??
I just bought a used 2011 F150 and in the center of the dash near the windshield there is an oval hole with 2 wires in a connector coming out of it. What goes in this hole and what should the missing item do and where can i get the parts to fix this? Part numbers would be much appreciated if anyone has them. Thanks in advance for the help.

What is that supposed to do? I've got manual AC. In daylight, I can take, say, a magazine, cover it up, and my gauge lights all dim as if at night.

Thats what the fella at the parts counter told me. The sensor they sold me plugged right into the connector that was hanging out the hole in the dash so I would think its the correct part. Don't have automatic lights (would love to do the retrofit or even daytime running lights).
