Alarm shock sensor placement

I am getting ready to install an alarm in my 77 f-150. Does any one know if putting the shock sensor on the firewall will work or is there a better location? Thanks
David

Alarm shock sensor placement

It is better to place the wire running along under the dash, on the harness, left to right, because it helps isolate it from vibrations caused by the truck cooling down. Which get transmitted to the firewall. Under the dash, it will still be sensitive enough to respond to a broken window.

I am not quite sure what you mean.

"It is better to place the wire running along under the dash, on the harness, left to right, because it helps isolate it from vibrations caused by the truck cooling down"

I was considering the firewall on the inside of the truck. The shock sensor is just a little box that you bolt somewhere.

"Under the dash, it will still be sensitive enough to respond to a broken window."

So are you saying just someplace under the dash except on the fire wall? Sorry I am so slow.
Thanks
David
