Sounds liek a 1970 block and cobra jet heads if I recall. Id say itll be a 429 but I may be wrong, Im not the expert, george is. Looking at the crank casting numbers will tell u for sure. If its a 2y or 3Y, its a 460 crank.
Just by those two casting numbers....you are correct, it it could very well be a 429CJ/SCJ. With it being a D0VE-A block, then it sounds like a 70 model engine since the 71 used the D1VE-AA block.
Does it have a stock oil filter threaded adapter with external threads or does it have an adapter with internal threads? Or does it have an oil filter adapter bolted on?
The SCJ used forged pistons with one valve relief. The CJ used cast pistons with two valve reliefs. Both used adjustable studs with 351C style rocker arms. I believe the CJ was a hydraulic cam where as the SCJ was mechanical/flat tappet/solid lifter. The CJ most likely is a 2bolt and for as I know, all SCJ were 4 bolt blocks. The cranks and the rods are the same as most every thing else except the intake. The CJ used a Q-Jet style carb with big secondaries and the SCJ used a Holley.

Everybody's right, (the CJ was non-adjustable valve-train after the first production run, but easily changed with locking rocker arm studs) but the crank is the only sure way to tell if it's still a 429.
As Larry points out, the CJ was little different than the Thunderjet with the exception of DOOE heads and some bolt-ons. A Ford service bulletin in 1970 spec'd forged SCJ pistons as service replacements for the CJ as the cast pistons were breaking skirts, primarily in police applications running at extended high rpms.
Nice find as only about 20,000 sets of DOOE heads were cast and pullers/mudders restricted to iron heads have driven their market price up to that of aluminum aftermarket heads.
